Complex Drive Goes Green
In this era, responsible corporate citizens understand the importance of finding ways to conduct business while maintaining a focus on reducing the environmental impact on the world around us. Never has it been so important to find ways to reduce overall usage and conserve available energy as it is today. This effort proves somewhat challenging for Data Centers and Hosting companies, as they rank among the largest users of electrical power per square foot in the industrial world, but by no means is the challenge insurmountable.
In 2008, Complex Drive is focusing efforts around finding new and innovative ways to make our overall operation more “power efficient” and we are finding other ways in which we can reduce our overall footprint on the Earth.
A short list of the changes already implemented in 2008 are:
- Instituting a campus wide Recycling Program
- Installing Motion Sensitive Lighting in Non-Critical and Non-Customer areas
- Requesting minimum shipping materials from frequently used Vendors
- Stamping corporate emails with “Green Reminders” which ask people to think carefully before printing
- Testing and Evaluating more efficient Data Center cooling and power systems
These initial steps will have an impact. Our intention is to continue these efforts to find cleaner and more energy efficient methods of conducting business. We urge all companies and individuals to do the same. To date, we have only one planet to occupy. Let’s focus on taking care of it together.
